Canesten Cream 1%

Canesten 1% cream is used to treat a wide range of skin infections caused by fungi. These include infections with dermatophytes such as ringworm (tinea corporis), athlete's foot (tinea pedis), and jock itch (tinea cruris) and infections with yeasts such as candida, fungal nappy rash, sweat rash, or thrush affecting the outside of the vagina or the end of the penis.

How to use Canesten Cream 1%:

 

Wash your hand before and after applying the cream. Apply the cream thinly to affected areas 2 or 3 times a day and rub in gently. Generally a minimum of 2 weeks treatment is necessary for thrush although up to 4 weeks maybe necessary for other conditions.

 

Caution when using Canesten Cream 1%:

 

If symptoms persist see your doctor. Do not use if you are pregnant, trying for a baby or breast feeding. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any medicine other than the contraceptive pill and if you are aged under 16 or over 60.

Canesten Cream 1% contains:

 

Clotrimazole 500mg (1% w/w). It also contains benzyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, cetyl palmitate, cetostearyl alcohol, octydodecanol and purified water.
